Dr. Stanley Harper welcomes families to the 2023-24 school year

Dear Salmon River Families:

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you back to Salmon River for the start of another wonderful school year! The first day of school for students in all grade levels is Thursday, Sept. 7. You can expect to receive more information from your child’s principal(s) if you haven’t already. Our Salmon River staff have been hard at work over the summer preparing to welcome your child(ren) back to school. From our facilities team to our instructional staff, all of us are eager for students to return.

As we begin the new school year, it is important for us to revisit our vision as a district. Here at Salmon River, we value Shamrock PRIDE. As I have previously communicated with you, our goal is to embody our vision of People Respecting Individuality, Diversity and Educational Achievement. Also, please partner with us to ensure all of our students are attending school every day (if students are not in school they are not learning). At Salmon River, every child matters and every child belongs. We strive to make meaningful connections with all students, and I want you to know that this will continue into the new school year.

As some of you might have noticed, construction has been well underway over the summer on our new lighted stadium turf field, basketball court, updated track, tennis/pickleball courts and community walking trail. Work will continue through the school year on the pool, hallways, parking lots and HVAC upgrades.

We are very excited that our Class of 2023 had a graduation rate of 92%. We are proud of all their hard work! We will continue to always strive towards a 100% graduation rate, as all kids matter.

In the Spirit of Education,

Dr. Stanley Harper
Superintendent of Schools
