The Salmon River Central School District Book of the Month program is designed to foster a strong sense of community within the school community by sharing a common story that resonates across grade levels, classrooms and families. Each month, a carefully selected book will be read and discussed by student and teachers, and shared with families at home.
The intentional use of the Book of the Month emphasizes the importance of building connections through shared experiences. By engaging with the same story, everyone in our district—from the youngest learners to their families—will have a positive, common topic of conversation. This shared narrative not only encourages meaningful social interactions but also promotes values such as caring and empathy.
