Superintendent Search Update

The Salmon River Central School District Board of Education has taken the next step in its superintendent search process following a review of applications received from across the region and beyond.

The district received a total of 18 applications for the position. During a recent meeting, the Board of Education selected seven candidates to move forward to confidential first-round interviews, which are scheduled to take place next week.

The superintendent search is being led by Dale Breault, district superintendent of Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES, who continues to work closely with the Salmon River Central School District Board of Education to facilitate the process.

Following the initial interview process, the board hopes to narrow the field to two or three finalists who will return in early June to participate in additional interviews with district stakeholder groups.

As part of the process, the Board of Education is seeking community volunteers interested in serving on a stakeholder interview group. The board will select volunteers in an effort to ensure balanced representation from the communities that make up the Salmon River Central School District, including Bangor, Bombay, Brasher, Fort Covington, Akwesasne, and Westville.

Community members interested in being considered for a stakeholder group are encouraged to contact Board of Education Clerk Lindsay Chapman by calling the district office or emailing her at lchapman@srk12.org.

Additional updates regarding the superintendent search process will be shared as they become available.
