School bus drivers typically work part-time, generally in the mornings and afternoons with a break in between. Drivers can count on weekends, evenings and summers off, as well as paid holidays. In addition, drivers may opt to work additional hours, covering late bus runs and sports, club or field trips. There may also be other opportunities to work additional hours within the Salmon River School District depending on availability.

The flexibility of the schedule makes the position ideal for retirees, business owners, remote workers, stay-at-home parents or college students!

As a bus driver at Salmon River CSD, you’ll receive several benefits:

Pay ranges per the CSEA Contract are $21.75-$23.60 per hour for bus drivers and $21.00 per hour for substitute bus drivers.

Salmon River Central School District hosts its own certified training facility. If a candidate does not have a proper license, we will train them! Training to obtain the proper licensing required to drive a school bus is free for those who intend to become a bus driver at Salmon River.
