On May 19, Salmon River Central School District voters approved the district’s proposed 2026-2027 school budget, the purchase and financing of school transportation vehicles, and elected one member to the Board of Education.
Propositions
- A $42,616,026 budget for the 2026-2027 school year that represents a 2.83% increase in spending and includes a 2% tax levy increase: 133 yes; 60 no
- Authorization to purchase and finance eight school buses at a total cost not to exceed $1,400,000 as part of the district’s long-term transportation replacement plan: 131 yes; 62 no
Board of Education election
Two candidates sought election to one open five-year Board of Education seat:
- Sarah Mitchell: 146 votes (winner)
- Krystal Lemay: 43 votes
The elected term begins July 1, 2026.
