Dear Salmon River Parents and Guardians,
After the January 26, 2026, closure, the district has one (1) emergency closure day remaining for this school year. In the event this remaining day is used for an emergency closure or “snow day,” we will switch schools to remote instruction on any emergency closure day thereafter.
As a reminder, students, faculty, and staff should always be prepared to transition to remote instruction by ensuring their electronic devices travel home with them each evening, and are fully charged so they are ready for use the following day. High school staff and students will utilize the Google Classroom platform for their instructional delivery method. The Middle School, and both elementary buildings, will utilize instructional packets for students. Please help ensure your child is participating in the online sessions or completing paper-based assignments. Your assistance in these very important matters is fully appreciated! CTE programs located on the Salmon River Campus will not be in session on these emergency remote days. Information regarding CTE programs off campus will be released as soon as possible the morning of the designated emergency remote day.
In previous years, if we went over our emergency day allotment, we would be forced to “take back” days from our holiday breaks to make up the difference. We recognize that families and individuals might be planning trips or events for the spring recess, and by pivoting to remote instruction rather than closing schools, we will have no last-minute changes to the school’s academic calendar.
We will therefore continue with our spring recess (April 3-10), as planned.
Please contact your child’s teacher or building administrator if you have questions.
Please continue to check the Salmon River CSD website for updates.
Respectfully,
Terrance P. Dougherty, Ph.D.
Acting Superintendent of Schools
