Salmon River Cooking Club Featured by North Country Healthy Heart Network

The Salmon River Central School District’s Cooking Club is being recognized by the North Country Healthy Heart Network’s blog for its commitment to teaching students essential life skills through hands-on culinary experiences.

Led by Food Service Manager Nicole Foster and co-advisor Alicia Moulton, the Cooking Club provides students with the opportunity to learn how to cook and bake from scratch while building confidence, teamwork, and kitchen safety skills. Meeting weekly after school, students explore knife skills, recipe reading, meal preparation, and cleanup, all while having fun and developing healthy habits.

The feature, written by Arriana Patraw, highlights the district’s continued partnership with the Creating Healthy Schools & Communities (CHSC) program and its dedication to promoting nutrition, wellness, and self-sufficiency among students.
