As the Salmon River Central School District returns from spring break, Interim Superintendent Ben Barkley is sharing a message with staff and families as he steps into his new role.
Barkley, who was recently appointed by the Board of Education, expressed his appreciation for the district community and his commitment to supporting students, staff, and families in the months ahead.
“Salmon River is more than just a workplace to me, it is a community I care deeply about,” Barkley shared. “I am proud of the relationships we’ve built and the shared commitment to supporting our students.”
As he begins his work as interim superintendent, Barkley emphasized his focus on continuing to move the district forward while supporting the work happening across schools. He noted that students will remain at the center of all decision-making and highlighted the importance of collaboration across the school community.
Barkley also thanked staff for their dedication and families for their continued partnership, noting that their support plays a critical role in student success.
The Board of Education continues to work with Franklin-Essex-Hamilton (FEH) BOCES District Superintendent Dale Breault on the search for a permanent superintendent, with the goal of naming a new district leader in summer 2026.
