Free breakfast and lunch available to children this summer

All children in the Salmon River Central School District community are eligible for free breakfast and lunch for pick-up this summer. The free meals are available for kids and teens up to 18 years old to enjoy from July 8 to Aug. 21. The hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.

This year, there will be two sites available for pick-up:

  • Akwesasne Library & Cultural Center – 321 State Route 37, Akwesasne, NY 13655
  • Salmon River Central School, Door #13 – 637 County Route 1, Fort Covington, NY 12937

When families pick up their meals, they will be packed for multiple days. The meals intended for Tuesday and Thursday will be hot and prepared, while meals for Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be pre-packed and ready to heat with ease.

The district requests, but does not require, those who would like to participate in the program to register ahead of time. Consider filling out one of the following forms to help the district best anticipate the need for meals:

For families with children in summer school, meals are available to them for pick-up on non-summer school days.
