Brief School Evacuation

At 9:27 this morning, Salmon River Central School District briefly evacuated the school as a precautionary response to a smoking incident inside the building.

Students were outside for approximately five minutes while the situation was addressed. After appropriate checks, the building was cleared, and students and staff safely returned inside. Instruction resumed shortly thereafter.

This situation is currently under investigation. We are dedicated to ensuring the situation is addressed to help prevent similar incidents in the future. There was no ongoing threat, and student safety remains our top priority.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
Dr. Terrance Dougherty
Acting Superintendent
