Bullying
The Board of Education is committed to creating and maintaining a learning atmosphere which is respectful and supportive and free from harassment, bullying and/or discrimination. Providing a safe school environment where all students and employees, without exception, are treated with respect and dignity, and are free from bullying, intimidation and harassment is one of our highest priorities.

Report a bully to the district.
Child Abuse Notification
If you suspect a child is being abused or maltreated (neglected), report it by calling 1-800-342-3720, a toll-free 24-hour hotline operated by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local police department.

Code of Conduct
The District’s Code of Conduct is a requirement of Section 100.2 [1] of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education. School districts are required to adopt a written policy on school conduct and discipline “designed to promote responsible student behavior.”

Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)
The purpose of the Salmon River Central School District Dignity for All Students team is to ensure that all students, regardless of gender, national origin, ethnicity, religions, ability, gender including expression or identity, sex, weight, height, ethnic group, religious practices, and sexual orientation, are provided an environment free from discrimination, harassment, bullying and fear, in order to come to school safely and without impediment to learning from these acts.

Use of Internet-Enabled Devices During the School Day
The District consulted with local stakeholders including employee organizations representing each bargaining unit, parents, and students to develop this policy to prohibit the use of Internet-enabled devices by students during the school day on school grounds. This policy aims to ensure that students remain focused on their academic responsibilities throughout the school day, which includes all Instructional and non-instructional periods such as homeroom, lunch, recess, study halls, and passing time.
