The Salmon River Central School District will shift to remote instruction on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, and Thursday, March 12, 2026 to accommodate required professional development focused on strengthening special education practices and classroom management.
This two‑day training, provided at no cost to the District, will include all instructional staff in both elementary buildings and the Middle School (teachers, teaching assistants, and aides), along with all Special Education staff from the High School.
All elementary and middle school students have one day of remote instruction already included in their initial take-home learning packet. A second day of remote learning plans will be distributed in advance of the March 12 date. Building administrators will communicate specific details to families through ParentSquare.
High school students will participate in remote instruction through links provided directly by their teachers or via assignments posted in Google Classroom.
The District is committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring all students have access to meaningful, equitable learning on both remote days. Building‑specific schedules and instructions will be shared with families in advance.
This initiative supports ongoing district improvement efforts and enhances the ability of staff to meet the needs of all learners.
