Capital project vote to be held Oct. 27

On Wednesday, Oct. 27, voters in the Salmon River Central School District will decide on a $7.4 million capital improvement project that prioritizes student and community health and wellness. The vote will take place from noon to 8 p.m. in the boardroom at Salmon River Central School. Voters will enter the building through Door 4.

There is no tax increase associated with the project. The projects would be funded by state aid and the district’s capital reserve fund.

To be eligible to vote, residents must live in the school district for at least 30 days prior to the Oct. 27 vote, be at least 18 years of age and be a citizen of the United States. Residents who will not be in the area on Oct. 27, or are otherwise unable to vote in person, may apply for an absentee ballot at the District Office. If the absentee ballot is to be mailed to the voter, the application must be submitted at least seven days prior to the vote (by Wednesday, Oct. 20). If the absentee ballot is to be picked up by the voter in person, applications will be accepted until Oct. 26. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the District Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27. For more information or to request an absentee ballot application, please call the District Office at 518-358-6610.
