Students at St. Regis Mohawk School Celebrate Native American Day

Written by on November 29, 2021 Filed in Uncategorized

Students and faculty at the St. Regis Mohawk School recently participated in a wide variety of Native American Day celebrations. Special thanks to Breanne Herne and Bear Fox for organizing the events, which spanned over three days in order for every classroom to meet with one of our two guest presenters.

Our events this year included:

  • Star Mason demonstrating jingle dancing.
  • Carrie Hill showing students how to make sweet grass bookmarkers.
  • Preparation of a traditional meal in the cafeteria, including hash! Strawberry drink was also served.

Students looked great wearing their ribbon shirts and skirts, many staff participated also!
