REMIND App

Our District started participating in the REMIND system last school year to provide additional communication opportunities for our staff, families and community.  REMIND is a free communication tool that lets our schools and teachers reach staff, students and parents on any device, including by text.  Staff can log in online or on the mobile app to send messages to students and parents via text, email or push notification all without revealing any personal phone numbers.

Attached is some more information to help you get started if you didn’t use REMIND last year or need a refresher.  In a nutshell the system is fairly simple.  Right now there are 5 main classes and some teachers have already created classes.  What staff, parents and students need to know is the school or class code (@_____) in order to join.  They are as follows for our buildings:

Salmon River Central School District (this is the whole school): @salmonriv

Salmon Elementary: @salmonelem

Salmon Middle School: @salmonms

Salmon High School: @salmonhs

St. Regis Mohawk School: @srmschool

The District and each building will use REMIND to communicate with staff and parents for important messages.  Staff who haven’t already joined last year will need to log in to  remind.com  with their school email to be active in their building and the District.

Staff can then create their own classes to share info with parents and students.  You can have more than one class account if you chose.  You can either send a letter home to parents similar to what is attached or have students text the class code to 81010 on their cellphones to be added.

If you need additional resources, there are lots of resources and ideas available at www.remind.com/resources.  If you are having problems logging in or using the system, there is a help center at https://help.remind.com/hc/en-us.
