The 3rd graders of the St. Regis-Mohawk School attended the Stearns-Cottrell

instrument petting zoo on Friday, February 9th hosted by the Community

Performance Series (CPS) at SUNY Potsdam. With the guidance and teaching from

current students of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam, these 3rd grade

students were able to play a vast array of instruments from the woodwind, brass,

and string families. Following the instrument petting zoo, a group of 5 world-renown woodwind soloists

named “Windscape” performed a concert for the students in the afternoon.

“Windscape” creates a performance that takes students on a type of a world tour,

engaging them in vivid cultural landscapes of distant times and places through

history and music.
