Grim Reaper Day On Grim Reaper Day, selected students were pulled from classrooms by "The Grim Reaper" to read their hypothetical story of how they died in an alcohol related accident. The purpose of Grim Reaper Day is to bring awareness of the loss of life (every 33 minutes) caused by drunk or impaired drivers |

honored with the chance to hear Ulali
on April10th. The group Ulali features Pura Fe (Tuscarora), Soni (Mayan, Apache, Yaqui), and Jennifer (Tuscarora). |

On April 8th New York Agriculture in the Classroom Ag Literacy Day was celebrated. Sugarbush Spring by Marsha Wilson Chall, a book about the making a maple syrup, was read by FFA members to elementary students. The Salmon River FFA and the Franklin County Farm Bureau each donated a copy of the book to the elementary library. | ||

On April 2, the Salmon River Central High School Band performed at the Capital Building in Albany for Music In Our Schools Month. Senator Betty Little and Assemblywoman Janet Duprey were in attendance as the band performed in the South Concourse. |

The Salmon River Central School Mock Trial team participated in the Second Annual Franklin County Competition on March 19,2008 at the Franklin County Courthouse. The team place fifth and had a great time meeting students from five other area schools. Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake, Franklin Academy, Brushton-Moira and Chateaugay all participated in the event.

March 3rd. Read Across America day
celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss and students were treated to
guest readers, each who read their favorite picture book to
students. |

February 11, 1958 The Salmon River Central School
opened its doors to the children of our communities. For the first time,
children from Akwesasne, Bombay, Fort Covington and Westville were
